Welcome to the Six Pack, where we break open a six pack of music, booze and fun. This week, we introduce you to a new addition to the 50 Pack, new music that we’re jamming out to, new bourbon releases, and more. Cheers!
50 PACK WELCOMES…: Our 50 Pack, which is our favorite 50 songs in no particular order except for when we added them to the list, has one new addition. This week, we welcome the collaboration “Cold Beer Can” by Dierks Bentley and Stephen Wilson Jr. But that also means we say goodbye to one song — Elvie Shane and Little Big Town’s “First Place” (331 days).
And what’s our longest tenured song on the 50 Pack? Koe Wetzel’s “Damn Near Normal” at 373 days and counting.
NOTHING ELSE BUT THIS SONG: Sometimes there are songs that you just love to play on repeat. One has particularly caught my ear and it features Frank Forrest and Thomas Rhett – “Nothing Else”. It’s a song we can hear folks jamming out this spring and summer. As they sing, “If I got all that, I really don’t need nothing else, nothing else.” Well, except maybe to keep this song on repeat.
ARTIST YOU NEED TO CHECK OUT: I love listening to music and finding new-to-me artists and songs. One artist that has come on my radar is Maoli. He’s recently released two songs – “Last Sip of Summer” and “Yours Truly” – from his upcoming project and I can’t wait to hear what else he crafts. But, Maoli has released nine independent albums and has a nearly 15-year recording and touring career bringing his unique mix of island reggae and country soul. If you haven’t, you need to check out this Hawaiian-born rising star and enjoy the vibes.
NEW RELEASE: Switching to the drinks world, 15 STARS just released its newest blend – 15 STARS Three Ports Fine-Aged Bourbon, which combines 9- and 15-year-old Kentucky straight bourbons, finished in tawny, white, and ruby port barrels. The new Three Ports release is available at select retailers nationwide and online. Bottled at 103 proof, the Three Ports has an MSRP of $179.
NEW RELEASE II: Buzzard’s Roost Whiskey will release its newest batch of Toasted French Bourbon on March 15. Batch 2 of Toasted French Oak Bourbon takes a slightly different approach than Batch 1, using French oak staves that were precision-toasted to coax out the most appealing flavors. With a mash bill of 75% corn, 21% rye and 4% malted barley, Batch has an MSRP of $95 and comes in at 100 proof.
GOING GLOBAL: Brother’s Bond Bourbon recently announced its global expansion with strategic partnerships in key international markets. The award-winning bourbon brand, founded by actors, longtime friends, and whiskey experts, Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley, is broadening its global reach with Brand Venture in Europe, Nimbility in Asia, and Craft & Culture in the United Arab Emirates. Brother’s Bond Bourbon is launching four expressions in its international markets: Brother’s Bond Straight Bourbon Whiskey, Brother’s Bond American Blended Rye Whiskey, Brother’s Bond Cask Strength Straight Bourbon, and Brother’s Bond Bottled-In-Bond Straight Bourbon.
