Welcome to the inaugural Six Pack, where we break open a six pack of music, booze and fun. This week, we introduce you to our 50 Pack of Favorite Songs, new bourbon releases, National Bourbon Week and more. Cheers!
PLAYLISTS: If you haven’t yet, The Bar Conversations Podcast has new Spotify playlists ready for you. Bonfire Nights is the perfect way to warm up the day/night while Different Vibe takes you to the country, rock, adjacent and just good music world.
FAVORITE SONGS: We’ve also got our 50 Pack, which is out favorite 50 songs in no particular order except for when we added them to the list. This week, we’ve got four newcomers — Gavin Adcock’s “Need To”, Ian Munsick’s “Horses Not Hearts”, Jonathan Hutcherson’s “Work”and Maoli’s “Last Sip of Summer.” But that also means we say goodbye to four songs — Trippp’s “Little Too Drunk” (265 days), Old Dominion’s “Coming Home” (244 days), JJ Wilde’s “Options” (214 days) and Jelly Roll’s “Get By” (190 days).
And what’s our longest tenured song on the 50 Pack? Koe Wetzel’s “Damn Near Normal” at 358 days and counting.
NEW CONVERSATIONS: We had some great conversations in February starting with Bear Rinehart of NEEDTOBREATHE and Wilder Woods before finishing with Haley Mae Campbell and Ana Cristina Cash. I’m excited for what’s coming up as we’ve got some fun interviews being planned.
NATIONAL BOURBON WEEK: National Bourbon Week is returning to Bardstown, Kentucky, on June 10-15, 2025. Details on exact events and experiences for the event’s second year will be announced soon. Presented by Buzick Construction, National Bourbon Week will again bring together world-class distilleries, exclusive tastings, unique educational experiences, and the vibrant spirit of Bardstown’s historic downtown. Last year’s inaugural event was a resounding hit, featuring a week filled with rare releases, special events, and the annual Bourbon City Street Concert.
NEW RELEASE: World Whiskey Society (WWS) announced the launch of its latest release, the $249 Limited Edition Doc Holliday 10-Year-Old Special Edition Collector’s Case Straight Bourbon whiskey. The Navy SEAL Foundation is kicking off its 25th year with a partnership with J. Mattingly 1845 Distillery through the release of three double-staved™ American Whiskeys, labeled “Sea,” “Air,” and “Land,” celebrating the environments where SEALs operate. The bottles sell individually for $155, or the trio can be purchased for $425 online, with free shipping. J. Mattingly 1845 will donate $30 from the sale of each bottle to help fund the mission of the NSF.
NEAT & MIXED: We had a ton of fun in February with Flight Nights, Questions and a new version of the show. We’ll have more of each in March and appreciate everyone for sharing a pour with us.
